SPEC INDIA maintains a scalable 30000 sq. ft. facility in Ahmedabad that hosts a team of 175 experienced software professionals.
An offshore development center is essentially a mixture of specialized technology and engineering resources.
The infrastructure at SPEC INDIA is one of the key components that make our global delivery model successful.
The development center at SPEC INDIA acts as a virtual extension of a client's office. Due to infrastructure investments
made over time, we have created a work environment for our professionals to provide high quality solutions and services
to clients across the globe. These investments enhance productivity and in turn add value to our services and hence
the customer.
Our development center uses a multi-dimensional approach and is designed to support changing business
processes and technology enhancements to ensure the solutions we build for our clients are robust,
scalable and sustainable.
The infrastructure includes policies and standards for:
- Communication
- Data security
- Network security
- Physical access security
- Disaster recovery
- The infrastructure policies and strategies are aimed at ensuring smooth and uninterrupted development and delivery.
- We have a documented Intellectual Property Policy to protect our clients' intellectual property.
Test Environment
To ensure quality assurance is done to meet real life situations, an environment as close as possible to the client's business environment is simulated within our office.
Three separate environments have been setup, namely:
- Development environment
- Pre-production (test)
- Production environment
These environments are maintained with a periodic data refresh. This setup also facilitates in simulating support tickets in the local environment. Servers used for these are located in the secure server room for data security.
Connectivity
Reliable connectivity is a critical component in our development & global delivery model.
- Redundant high bandwidth Internet connections are in place for Citrix / VPN connections to client environments for troubleshooting, deployment and communications.
- Hi-speed local area network ensures that all workstations have optimized network access speed.
- Where required we can subnet our network to isolate a client's development team.
- Our web based help desk application is hosted on a data center with multiple T1 links to ensure reliable high speed access.
- For client conferencing, we have Polycom based Tele / Video conferencing facility using high bandwidth ISDN lines.
Facilities
- Meeting rooms on each floor and conference rooms allow for convenient discussions, presentations and review meetings.
- Large training and board rooms with LCD projectors are used for training or seminars.
Physical Security
Our facilities are secured through restricted physical access and secure networks.
- Secured access card and biometric security systems have been implemented in the development and server room areas to ensure access is restricted to authorized people.
- The application and data access is also restricted to ensure confidential information, data and other restricted circulation information is confined to the authorized personnel only.
- Removable media access is restricted and is under strict supervision.
Disaster Recovery
Over and above the hardware redundancy (RAiD - Disk mirroring), multi-copies of backup's are created and maintained including a copy outside the development center. This periodic backup and off-site backups are to ensure that there is no loss of data or code due to infrastructure failures or Force Majeure.
To address eventualities, the backup facility will be created in a short time at another site for disaster recovery, replicating the data to the server residing at remote location.
