Everyone loves getting a gift, especially on Christmas!! And there are loads of funky gifts to look forward to this winter. Only if I had enough money to buy all of these for my friends and family!! Certainly on the top of my list and the wish list are iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 the Google Nexus and the very trendy Moto 360!
Christmas, we all know commemorates the birth of Christ and it actually means a feast in honor of the son of God. The tradition that was born along with baby Jesus, two thousand years ago is loved more than the fable by people like me. Gifting. The three wise men; our holy books tell us, gave three significant gifts to the blessed baby. Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh. But before this turns out to be a religious preaching of sorts, let us straight get on with the business of gifting and more importantly getting gifts on Christmas.
Like I said, the Apple freak that I am, I would love to get an Apple any time! What if I get hold of the iPhone 6 or even better, the iPhone 6S, certainly bigger than the bigger?. I straight away dump my older Apple and switch to these iOS8 based New Year gifts. And along with that if I set my hands on the much discussed iPad Air 2 with its eye catching Retina 2 display and the A8X chip that’s like even better than having a white Christmas!!
When it comes to gifting though, the beautiful, smart Androids can come to my rescue. All shapes, sizes and to suit my pocket as well!
When it comes to phones, I cannot stop thinking about the Samsung Galaxy 4 with its unmatchable camera to capture the holiday moments. The TouchWiz user interface and the sharp screen supported by the very dependable battery is all about technology, but it is the S Pen stylus gives the style to this device. On the other hand, unquestionably it is the LG G3 that beats most of the Androids to design. The sleek design and the outstanding battery life make me think whom I can gift this to. The Sony Xperia Z3 stands out as the coolest Android powered phone with a super fast processor and a new metal frame, smart corner design. And what’s more, I can take it to the pool side too with the waterproof ratings that it gets. But Nexus 6 is one of the best Android processors available with Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s a little harsh on the pocket with all its technology but definitely on my wish list too!
But what takes the cake (or the Christmas pudding actually), is the Motorola Moto G(2014) an unbelievably low priced smartphone getting Android updates as fast as the much superior and expensive Nexuses. It already runs Lollipop and worth gifting to the whole jing bang of family and friends!
And the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is also fine as an Android powered tablet for me.
2014 is undoubtedly the year of wearable. I really don’t mind flaunting an Apple Watch with the added advantage of increasing the possibility of keeping my New Year resolution for longer days. Remaining healthy and fit with all the Health Kit based Apps and making the watch my watch dog of sorts. Though Apple Watch cannot be beaten to its style quotient, The LG G Watch R, Samsung Gear Live, The circular Moto 360 , Sony Smart Watch 3 and the rest prove that with the latest Android Wear 2.0 update with the GPS and offline music abilities; Google is the emerging leader for wearable devices.
But honestly speaking let this not be a war between Apple and Android. Actually if I put aside my soft corner for the Apples, I have to admit that Android is in fact unfolding to be a pioneer in the wearables and innovative technologies setting an unbeatable trend beginning March this year after the previews at the Google I/O 2014. The very fact that Android gels with so many cool devices speaks miles about the versatility. But the elegance and style of the Apples is unmatched and people keep asking for more.
And all I ask is that Santa be merciful and gracious enough to make me happy, my stocking is big enough to hold the booty!
