The project is for a client who is a popular food ingredients firm based in Italy. They have created capability and application knowledge in leveraging natural products, such as fibers and proteins, to create tailored functional solutions for a wide range of savory applications.

The client was in search of a unified web portal that can offer automation of food ingredients-related activities. Earlier the client had had no system at all, everything was managed through spreadsheets. Only the raw material approval process was on Microsoft SharePoint.

The client was finding it difficult to manage different activities of the food ingredients business since there was no application. They found it challenging to maintain the master data, recipe data, material data, bill of substances, etc.

The approach for the execution of this web-based project was the Waterfall approach, where requirements would be gathered, analyzed, and baselined to form the scope of the system.
