Our client is a travel agency based in United Kingdom that focuses on the travel and hospitality business. They wanted to create an effective application to address all the aspects of travel booking including hotels, flights, employees, guests, suppliers, and agents.
Since they were in the travel and hospitality industry, they had the following objectives which they were keen to achieve with our assistance.
This was because the client had a challenge in maintaining real time update on the hotels, transfers and flights. This made it difficult for them to provide their customers with right information on time thus causing organizational hiccups in their planning and bookings of trips.
Sometimes relevant information from suppliers or agents was ignored thereby making certain updates and changes missed. Lack of proper communication in these cases led to misunderstanding and accrued time delay in the course of making the bookings.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of fresh data, stakeholders were forced to use the information that was not very close to the current, which created misunderstandings and failures in bookings and travel planning.
It was difficult to manage different chains including the hotels, suppliers, agents and customers. The discontinuity of the communications made it challenging in dealing with the bookings and service delivery.
The Vamoos and Travelport APIs were incorporated through which the travel agents could get updated information of hotels, flights, and transfers at any given time to enable them to develop itineraries.
With the API integration, travel agents could directly get information to access the latest information for the agents to pass on to customers in a timely manner.
We created a background Refresh service that keeps all the existing itineraries fresh with latest data gathered from APIs, without the need of further user input.
Now, the client gets instant updates on hotels, flights, and other travel details. This means they always have the latest information, so there are no surprises or outdated data.
The system automatically keeps itineraries up-to-date and simplifies the booking process. This means less manual work and faster, smoother operations for the travel agency.
With all data being updated in real time, it’s easier for everyone involved—suppliers, agents, and clients—to stay on the same page. This constant flow of information helps prevent misunderstandings and keeps everything running smoothly.
Now Guests can easily log in and view their travel details, while the system handles multi-currency transactions for international clients.
