The project is about developing a business intelligence and analytics application for a leading multinational, heavy equipment manufacturing company in China. They are known for their concrete machinery and are major suppliers of excavators, cranes, wheel loaders and other heavy machines.
They were keen to design and develop a complete database solution that could process and clean their hordes of data that was available in MS Access format. They also had a lot SAP related data that needed to be utilized for better use. They wished to view the entire data offerings through different dashboards and reports.
The client was finding it difficult to come up with a consolidated database that could give them detailed analytics. There was a need to process and clean data to load into a Tableau-friendly format so that it could be utilized well. Even the SAP-related data needed to be loaded into SQL format.
Diagnosing the challenges of the client, SPEC INDIA helped the customer in extracting, transforming, and loading the data into a well-organized format so that it could help them derive meaningful insights through analytical capabilities.
The data was lying in MS Access files. We pre-processed and cleaned all the files to make it into a Tableau-friendly format. There was a lot of data that we took from the SAP system and transformed and loaded into SQL database.
We developed a comprehensive ETL process that included all major processing like extracting, transforming, and loading of data with the help of ADF and SQL. We also showcased data through meaningful, visually attractive dashboards and reports.
