Client’s Business Goals

The client’s main goal was to attract more customers to opt for their QMS Software. Thus, the client needed the existing application with all the upgrades, rich UI, and advancements to serve the cause.

Challenges faced by the Client

The client had already developed a legacy desktop application in VBScript, which he sold to enterprise companies. But as per the need of the hour, he did not have a web application developed to attract more customers from the market.

Apart from this, the poor UI of the web application was a significant concern.

The technology used in his existing web application was a bit old, so further enhancements were not possible in the current web application.

Certain features that were essential like Active Directory login, Document Viewer, Chart-based Reports, Calendar, Zoho Integration, etc. were missing in the web application.

The client had purchased a Zoho account and had customer and vendor data in the Zoho account which he wanted to migrate to his desktop application.

Our Approach/Solution

Our solution was based on replacing the existing web application with the latest trending technologies like ReactJS and NodeJS. The new comprehensive and enriched web application developed by SPECINDIA has a new UI design that caters to the needs of the client.

The newly developed web application would be mainly used by the users in the organization whose role was to have knowledge of the important documents of the organization like company policy, organization manual, procedures, work instructions, etc. These users have to go through the training process which can be recorded in the application and can be approved by the respective approvers.

These users can apply for leaves, can plan and view events in the calendar in the application, can record complaints, and also can view reports. All these are managed by the roles and permissions set in the application.

A Windows service was also developed to periodically send emails to users whose Dashboard contains items to be worked upon by them, which works as a reminder for them.

We also developed a Windows application that periodically checked the ZOHO account of client and migrated the customers’ and vendors’ data from ZOHO to the application database.

Active Directory Login

Document Management which includes adding new document, reviewing the documents through multiple stages and approval of the document before releasing it to other users.

Document Training – Adding trainees who require to go through the document and trainers can provide their signature after the training is completed.

Complaints Capturing – Adding of new complaints received from any end customer and processing it through multiple stages like Acknowledge, Investigate, Respond and Communication Logs.

Leave Requests and Approval

Event Management using Calendar – Adding new events and assigning other employees of the organization to the events, viewing the events in a Calendar view.

Deviations Management – Capturing of Deviations in a process or product and capturing required data and resolution.
