Key Challenges

  • Applications did not have any screen to configure Truck Rates based on end user and Pickup/Delivery Zip Code. Neither does it fetch rates in Truck Booking automatically.
  • The manual processes of entering Truck Rates for the Booking proved exceedingly time-consuming, demanding substantial human effort.
  • Furthermore, App did not have any feature to cover the entire country, customer had to enter Rates manually for individual Customer and Pickup/Delivery Zip Code.
  • Also, App did not provide any advantage to end user of paying less amount.

Observing at the challenges faced by the customer, SPEC INDIA followed the standard model of development that includes research and analysis, design, development and severe testing to deliver a feature with standard.

Our Solution

By Enhancing Truck Module with Auto Rates to Logistics System, SPEC India evolved the development of App. With this Enhancement SPEC has developed the application to find multiple Rates and Benefit Calculation functionalities. SPEC also provided a very useful value-added feature in the Truck Module, to Calculate the Rates based on selected Rate Type.

In this new feature, The application finds Truck Rates by exactly matching Customer, Pickup, and delivery to Zip Code. For Cargo Details, app converts all available cargo Values in Rate Type and considers the maximum unit for matching.

Key Inclusions

Master Screen: With the use of this screen app will fetch Rates to Truck Booking based on configured parameters Customer Code, Pickup Zip Code, Pickup Country Code, Deliver To Zip Code, Deliver To Country Code and Status. Based on the parameters app displays configured Rates.

Functions: This gives rights to user to perform Add/Edit/Delete/Delete All Rates which are based on user level permission.

Upload/Download: This feature allow users to download and upload Truck Rates in Excel. Application download all Rates of the selected Customer in an excel sheet. After the successful upload, Truck Rating screen displays latest data according to the existing search criteria visible on the screen.

All ZipCodes: This functionality allows if user would like to apply Rates for all Zip Codes of a country, then put zero in From and To Zip Code where zero indicates all Zip Codes of a selected country.

Benefit Calculation: This new feature along with Truck AutoRates has developed to give a benefit to end user. When Benefit calculation is ON, app checks whether next weight break/range of Rates are giving benefit to customer of paying less amount.

Calculation with different Rate Types: This allows customer to make a selection of Rate Type other then Kg basis. Application provides Kg, Cbm and Ldm Rate Basis.

Multiple Rates: With the help of this app finds multiple Rates for any Truck Booking, then it shows all options in popup and user can make a selection manually by selecting any Rate option.

Remove Manual Efforts: This AutoRates Enhancement reduce all the manual efforts. When user enters the details in Truck Booking, app fetch configured Rates automatically.
